Gamers Pursue Racing Career in EA's Latest
Posted on February 23, 2005
Electronic Arts, which dominates video sports games, is holding nothing back with its latest racing offering, NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup. Players can race with NASCAR driver Kyle Busch on March 2nd on the Xbox offical Game for Fame website. In addition to racing action, EA has added more strategy elements including the ability to develop alliances with other drivers and a stronger focus on ownership.
Game producer Scott Stutsman says, "Chase for the Cup gives the player the opportunity to follow multiple paths in the new Fight to the Top mode. You choose your path by deciding what contract offers to accept. Just want to drive? Only sign contacts to drive for other owners. Want to manage the garage, hire & fire pit crews, and head up your R&D efforts? Buy a team! You can even buy teams in each series and hire AI drivers to compete when the schedule prevents you from being in two places at once. It's all up to the player."
