Grand Theft Auto V Makes $800 Million in First 24 Hours

reports that Grand Theft Auto V generated $800 million in its first 24 hours. This was a record for the company and an enormous sum for any type of media.
Alan Lewis, vice president of corporate affairs and public relations for Take-Two, "I believe this is bigger than any blockbuster. This is the biggest entertainment day launch in the history of any entertainment medium."
Take-Two's shares climbed 2% on the news. CNN/Money says the strong sales could provide a boost to upcoming consoles, such as the PlayStation 4.
