New Nintendo 3DS XL to Launch in February

Posted on January 20, 2015

Nintendo will be launching its new Nintendo 3DS XL portable handheld console in the U.S. on February 13, 2015. The console will cost $199.99. Nintendo says the new console has enhancements that make for smoother and more engrossing game play.

Nintendo says one of the new enhancements include super-stable 3D display with face-tracking technology. The upgraded device also features added C Stick and ZL/ZR buttons. The device also has built-in NFC functionality.

Time shares some more of the improvements in this article. They say the sound is louder and clearer. They also note that Nintendo says the processing power of the new 3DS is meant to be a big jump over the older model. Time also says the download speeds on the new 3DS is "wowsers fast."

Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, says in a statement, "We are only a couple of weeks into 2015, and Nintendo is already starting the year off with a bang. With New Nintendo 3DS XL coming very soon and an enormous library of exclusive Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games launching throughout the coming months, it has never been a better time to be a Nintendo fan."

If you don't have a 3DS XL then you clearly want the new model. If you already own one then you want to see if you can get a good trade-in deal for your old one before you spend the money to upgrade or wait for a good deal on the new model.
