Ride the Supernatural Hell Cycle in Ghost Rider

Posted on July 18, 2005

Majesco and Marvel Comics have joined forces to offer gamers the chance to drive the supernatural Hell Cycle in the Ghost Rider game. The game will be based on the Marvel comic books about the Ghost Rider super hero which have sold over 45 million copies. Game players will get to play Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider, and ride his Hell Cycle as they battle evil.

Desperate to save the life of his father, Motorcycle stunt rider Johnny Blaze strikes a deal with the Mephistopheles for his soul. Mephistopheles keeps his promise, but in return, Johnny is forever destined to ride through the night, avenging evil as the Ghost Rider, never to be re-united with the love of his life. Comic writers Garth Ennis and Jimmy Palmiotti will pen the game's story line. Majesco Entertainment senior product manager Liz Buckley told the Hollywood Reporter more of the game's features.

Buckley added that like the recent Marvel and Activision "Fantastic Four" video game, the "Ghost Rider" game will utilize characters from the Hollywood adaptation and the Marvel comic universe. At this time, the game will not feature voices or likenesses from the film's cast.

She said players, as Ghost Rider, will face off against such villains as Blackheart and Mephistopheles. Players will be able to ride the Hell Cycle on water and boost over jumps. The third-person perspective game also will feature such weapons as the Hellfire Chain and Hellfire Shotgun.

There are not many specific details currently available about the game except that it will be released in to coincide with the film release in the Summer of 2006. The film stars Nicolas Cage as the Ghost Rider.
