Second Life to Sell Real Names

Linden Lab has decided to sell real names for use in Second Life. This would give them company a potentially large revenue stream for its virtual world.
CNET reports that the costs will include a $100 setup fee and a $50 annual maintenance free for individuals. Corporations will be charges a $1,000 setup fee and an annual fee of $500 per year.
It will be interesting to see if this becomes as big of a deal as the domain name craze has become. There will certainly be a big interest in acquiring Second Life names. These prices should be too step for domain name grabbers and squatters.
