The Bourne Games

Vivendi Universal Games has signed an agreement to develop and publish games based on Robert Ludlum's books, which include the popular Bourne Indentity novels. Matt Damon has played agent Jason Bourne in the films. The next Bourne film will be out in 2007. No word on whether Damon's likeness will be used for the Bourne games but it seems like something Vivendi would want to do. The BBC has a news story on the Vivendi deal which says the games will be developed for multiple game systems.

Among Ludlum's novels which are expected to be turned into multi-platform games include the Covert One and Bourne series.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to launch a new line of games inspired by some of the most exciting spy-action franchises ever created," said Bruce Hack, chief executive of VU Games.

"The interest in Robert Ludlum's works is enormous, as evidenced by the worldwide popularity and commercial success of his books and movies."
