Two Games Power Up November Sales
Posted on December 10, 2004
Two hot games were responsible for driving November sales up 11%. Reuters reports that Halo 2 sold 3.3 million copies and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas sold about 1.5 million copies. That is nearly 5 million units sold in one month from just two games.
Without these two games sales likely would have fallen in November 2004. Xbox also reported strong sales probably thanks to the popularity of Halo 2. Xbox sales in November, 2004 soared over 50% when compared to November, 2003 sales.
The strong sales show how important blockbuster games have become to the console industry. They not only drive game sales but boost console sales as well.
